Board certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine, Dr. Alan Hirahara teaches expert techniques for performing intra-tendinous and intra-articular knee injections with high-resolution ultrasound for combined best visualization of target anatomy and your needle.

In this 1-hour webinar, you’ll learn how effective, easy, and affordable it is to add high-definition wireless ultrasound to your orthopedic or pain practice. Dr. Hirahara uses a cadaver knee to teach:

  • Tendinous, paratendinous, and bursal injections around the knee
  • An intra-tendinous biologic injection into a pathological quadriceps tendon
  • The ultrasound appearance of the patellar tendon and easy in-plane injection techniques
  • An effective and safe superior lateral approach to an intra-articular knee injection
  • How to accurately pinpoint the pes anserine tendons and inject into the bursa
  • Ultrasound techniques to precisely locate the anatomical attachment point for anchor placement in an MPFL repair

Whether you’re treating an elderly patient with an arthritic knee joint, or an athlete with patellar or quadriceps tendinopathy, success of the treatment depends on the accuracy of the therapy. The ability to visualize the needle and target structure with real-time ultrasound has been shown to increase the accuracy of injections into joints and tendons compared to blind or anatomically based methods. Join Dr. Hirahara as he demonstrates proven techniques for using handheld ultrasound for knee injections.

We polled clinicians in previous Clarius pain management and orthopedic webinars and learned that when performing blind injections, physicians are most concerned with inaccurate or imprecise injections. Using high-definition wireless ultrasound has been shown to increase accuracy and decrease the pain and anxiety for their patients.

Dr. Alan Hirahara, MD, FRCSC, invites fellow orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine experts, and all clinicians who perform MSK procedures to attend his educational webinar on January 24th, 2023. He demonstrates how to use high-definition wireless ultrasound to guide your needle precisely to deliver biologics into a pathologic tendon and inject inflammation reducing steroids into a joint space with 100% accuracy. You’ll also see how ultrasound can be used to aide in the planning of treatment and surgical interventions for painful or injured knees.

Dr. Hirahara is joined by emergency physician Oron Frenkle and sonographer Shelley Guenther for live scanning to help you build practical skills that you can use with your next patient. Learn expert techniques to take your procedural skills to the next level with ultrasound-guided injections. It’s time to put blind injections behind us! Don’t miss this webinar – register today.
